Accepting Sexuality is an informal group of Irish Methodists, ordained and lay, working for the inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT)
people in the Church.

We believe that God accepts and loves LGBT people. For our part we seek to offer support and to affirm LGBT people’s journey in faith and life, including for all who seek to find fulfilment in committed relationships where a couple comes to a deeper love of each other and of God.

We want to encourage Irish Methodists to think seriously and in an informed way about human sexuality. We organize a series of events – seminars and studies – and have brought together a range of resources and links on this website. Please let us know if you’d like to join the e-mail list for news of future happenings.

We acknowledge that this is a difficult issue for the Church and are willing to have conversations with Church Councils, to explore the tensions in Biblical interpretation or the practical outworkings of seeking to demonstrate that LGBT people are welcome.

The group can be contacted confidentially at mail@acceptingsexuality.org
